About

In 2010, when my son was nearly 1-year-old, I started a long, arduous battle to share custody with my son’s father. The emotions were like none I’d experienced in my tense-teens nor turbulent-20s. I fought for love — nearly falling victim to it. If you’re going through a custody battle or are on a path to coparenting, I hope this site will help guide you towards a life where the most brilliant experiences of your child’s life can be shared with everyone in the family, together.

Where the stories come from

These stories are based on my personal experience of a two year battle in the Family Court system, and then, seven years of (mostly) successful coparenting.  Search through the pages to find something that resonates with you. The goal is to avoid a battleground with casualties of the heart and financial strain.

Because it can feel like this.

Where I am today

Today, I am lucky to live in a healthy co/parenting relationship with my son’s father and the bonus family he introduced to our lives. I work as a writer for Google, and live in NYC. Currently, during the 2020 Pandemic, I’m working from an old schoolhouse in the countryside.

Where this is going…

I will start publishing entries that I’ve written over the years on co/parenting. Some of them are nice stories about things working out. Others are painful. I don’t believe in hiding the hard stuff.

I will also create a section for the community. If you want to share your story, please contact stories@coparenting.app
